dr Ksenija Jankovic
Academic title:

Principal Research Fellow

Field of research

Building Materials; Sustainable Construction

Dr Ksenija Janković, principal research fellow, obtained B.Sc. (1990), M.Sc. (1994) and Ph.D. (1999) at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Belgrade. She is employed in the Institute for testing of materials IMS since March 1995. Dr Janković was assistant in research work in Laboratory for Materials in the field of building materials and concrete technology, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Belgrade University (1992-1995).

She has strong scientific and industrial expertise related to design and development of cement based materials. She has more than 25 years of practice in participating in collaborative research projects and industry driven assignments relevant to this proposal. The most important research-related contribution of dr Janković to the relevant field can be sorted in three main areas: investigation of properties and durability of different types of concrete, aapplication of nanomaterials in concrete, environmental protection and sustainable construction development. Her main research fields: investigation of properties and durability of different types of concrete: recycled aggregate concrete, self-compacting concrete, foam concrete, sulfur concrete, polymer modified concrete, fiber concrete, high strength concrete and ultra high performance concrete.  Besides, she studies the possibility of using industrial waste in concrete products. Continuously works on the implementation of new international standards in experimental research methods, on the basis of which scientific research work in Serbia is being improved.

She is author or co-author of more than 200 publications and 9 technical improvements (SCOPUS: h-index 6 and 238 citation). Also, she submitted the application for two patents. The results of the research on which it participated were also practical application, both in the production of concrete and concrete prefabricated elements, as well as in the construction and rehabilitation of facilities. These activities were performed directly in industrial plants on demand of local and regional building materials producers, or supported by the state and international research funding.

Also, she is a member of the Editorial Board of the Serbian magazine “Building Materials and Structures” and reviewer of few international journals. She was a member of scientific board of many national and international conferences. Also, she is member of several national and international associations (RILEM, DGKS, DIMKS, DIVK, IK).
