Verification Body – Activities
General Information
Verification Body of the Institute for Materials Testing has officially received an extension of the certificate’s validity for the entire accreditation cycle by the Accreditation Body of Serbia, in accordance with the requirements of the SRPS EN ISO/IEC 17029:2020 standard, for the process of verification of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reports.
The verification process consists of a series of interrelated and mandatory steps set out in the document Rules on Verification of the Institute for Materials Testing.
The Verification Body has confirmed its competence to perform the verification procedure of GHG emissions reports for the following activity groups:
(1a) Combustion of fuels in installations where only standard commercial fuels are used, as defined by regulations governing the monitoring and reporting of GHG emissions, or in Category A or B installations where natural gas is used.
(1b) Combustion of fuels in installations without limitations.
(6) Production of cement clinker.
Production of lime or calcination of dolomite or magnesite.
Production of ceramic products by firing.
Production of mineral wool insulation materials.
(7) Production of paper or cardboard.
The activity groups are defined by the Decree on types of activities and greenhouse gases (“Official Gazette of the RS” No. 13/22), as well as the Rulebook on verification and accreditation of verifiers of reports on greenhouse gas emissions (“Official Gazette of the RS” No. 107/21).
Verification Body Personnel
The personnel of the Verification Body consists of verifiers – university graduates in chemistry, engineers of technology and metallurgy, mechanical engineers, civil engineers and engineers of organizational sciences. Their competence is demonstrated through many years of professional experience in the scopes applied for accreditation in the field of verification.
Application for Verification
An application for verification is submitted using the official Verification Body application form (VTZ 01 – Application for Verification), in which the operator specifies the necessary information about his activities that are the subject of verification. Along with the application, the client is obliged to submit all the documents required by the Verification Body for the purposes of preparing an offer.
Handling of appeals/complaints
The operator of an installation, for which a verification report has been issued, has the right to submit a complaint or appeal regarding the service provided.
Complaints and appeals shall be handled in accordance with accordance with the documented procedure IP 28 Appeals and Complaints.
The Institute for Materials Testing, as a Verification Body accredited until 2030, in accordance with the requirements of SRPS ISO/IEC 17029:2020 (Accreditation Certificate No. 12-002), provides its clients with the services from Scope of Accreditation 12-002.
