From 6 to 8 July 2026, the Institute for Materials Testing had the pleasure of hosting the Construction Technical School from Zagreb as part of the Erasmus+ project “Education for GREEN Transformation of the COnstruction Sector – GREENCO”, in which the Institute for Materials Testing is one of the project partners.

During the three-day visit, project partners from Croatia and Serbia exchanged valuable knowledge and experience, presented the activities carried out so far, and discussed opportunities for the further development of modern educational programmes. Particular emphasis was placed on the development of innovative educational content and on strengthening cooperation among the project partners. The guests also visited the Institute for Materials Testing laboratories, where they were introduced to the Institute’s research infrastructure and current research activities.

As part of the programme, a two-hour guided tour of ‘Ložionica’ was organized. During the visit, the guests learned about the history of this landmark as well as its recent transformation through a professional presentation led by the project’s author, Anđela Karabašević Sudžum, and her team. In addition to ‘Ložionica’, the delegation visited the ‘EXPO 2027 Playground’ at the Belgrade Fair – an innovative multimedia venue serving as the official introduction to the upcoming EXPO 2027 World Exhibition. The visit concluded with a tour of the ‘Belgrade 360’ observation deck on the 41st floor of Kula Beograd, the tallest building in Serbia and the region, offering a panoramic view of the Serbian capital.

This successful visit marks another important milestone in the implementation of the GREENCO project and reaffirms the Institute’s commitment to regional cooperation, knowledge exchange, and the development of innovative educational foundations for a sustainable and green future of the construction sector.
