Laboratory for acoustics and vibrations
The field of activity includes noise measurement in the living and working environment, communal noise measurement and noise monitoring, sound power measurements of noise sources, acoustic zoning of the city, scientific research activity in the field of acoustics, testing of materials, constructions and elements of buildings in terms of sound protection (testing and assessment of sound protection of buildings, laboratory and field measurements of sound insulation of building elements from air sound and impact sound and measurement of reverberation time and sound absorption coefficient), acoustic tests of sound barriers and sound reduction tests of channel silencers.
The laboratory also works intensively on the development of software and special measuring systems for the needs of automation of testing and application in the field of construction physics, as well as for the needs of calibration of sound level measuring devices (phonometers, sound level analyzers in real time, filters for sound analysis, measuring microphones and pistonphone and sound calibrator).
